Use of low emission fuels

In order to continue with the replacement of fossil fuels with fuels with a lower emission impact, the Poste Italiane Group has planned further investments. In particular, in view of the agreements made with the Eni Group (Enilive) and Q8 in 2025, it has planned an expansion of the fuelling of Euro VI diesel vehicles with HVO fuel, to be developed by 2030. In this regard, for 2026 the Group is committed to the target of maintaining a 10% annual HVO on the proprietary fleet, already achieved in 2025, even in the face of an expected increase in the vehicle fleet in the near future. 

Furthermore, with particular reference to its suppliers in the logistics sector, the Group, on the basis of its contracts, is promot­ing the use of biofuels by hauliers and is therefore expected to progressively increase the use of HVO with future positive effects in particular on indirect emissions (Scope 3 - Category 4). 

Furthermore, with reference to the air fleet, the Group’s willingness to use SAF is confirmed and a gradual increase is expected until 2030. Currently, the percentage of SAF in use is 4%, higher than the regulatory minimum of 2%.
