Housing autonomy
The “Housing Autonomy for Women Victims of Violence” Project launched in 2022, with the provision of 10 housing belonging to its real estate assets spread throughout Italy, to be used as temporary housing for women and mothers with minor children who have embarked on a path out of violence. The initiative sees the involvement of 9 Anti-Violence Centres in various municipalities, Third Sector realities committed to the fight against gender-based violence, and the Municipality of Bari, with which free loan agreements have been signed. The initial duration of the free loan agreements was 3 years (2022-2025); in 2025, all 10 free use agreements were renewed for a further 2 years, extending their validity until 2027. The project provides for different ways of using the accommodation according to the needs reported by the Anti-Violence Centres. Some housing originally intended for semi-autonomy was converted into emergency housing, to respond promptly to situations of immediate need. Since the project was launched, the number of women accommodated in the Group’s accommodation has been considerable: 98 women, accompanied by 51 minors.
