Evolving the Sustainable Procurement model from an ESG perspective

The Sustainable Procurement model interprets sustainability in the procurement process through five key factors:

  • ongoing assessment of Key Issues aimed at ensuring greater alignment with the Company’s Sustainability Strategy and in line with the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda;
  • process of defining, evaluating and validating k-ESGs, i.e. sustainability requirements and criteria characterised by product scope, company size and market maturity, and the role of the economic operator in the supply chain, which can be aggregated for the Key Issues of sustainable procurement;
  • adherence and maintenance of the UNI ISO 20400 Guidelines on sustainable procurement;
  • implementation of a detailed database of procurement process and supply chain behaviour, aimed at marking market reactions to the ESG footprint conveyed through tendering procedures and to elaborate an increasingly sophisticated model capable of aggregating by clusters, characterised requirements and criteria;
  • awareness and engagement of suppliers.

As proof of its commitment to the sustainable management of the Supply Chain, the Group has set a new target to strengthen the integration of ESG criteria in its competitive procedures and in the selection of its supplier base.
