Project “Scarpa vecchia fa buon gioco”

From the “Scarpa vecchia fa buon gioco” project, winner in 2023 of the second edition of the company contest “Insieme 24 SI”, came a circular economy initiative developed thanks to the ingenuity and creativity of our people. The project aims to transform a waste – used safety shoes – into a new resource, helping to reduce environmental impact and landfill. Every year, around 25,000 pairs of work shoes used by postmen and women and plant operators are collected and, from the materials resulting from their shredding, anti-trauma tiles are made for the flooring of the Poste Italiane Group’s company crèches. In 2025, thanks to the active involvement of postmen and women, over 11,000 kg of safety shoes were collected and sent for reuse.
