Initiatives to counter workplace accidents
The Poste Italiane Group, in continuing with its constant commitment to preventing the phenomenon of accidents, particularly in the logistics sector, has implemented a series of initiatives in 2025, including but not limited to:
– training provided as part of the Postal and Traffic Police memorandum of understanding, with the aim of developing a culture of prevention for the systematic reduction of accidents on the roads and ever greater protection of life and safety on the road;
– continuation of the Safety Academy training course by launching two new editions with 59 meetings held during the year, useful to disseminate and promote the culture of safety;
– training campaign aimed at Post Office Managers who have suffered robbery and assault events in the last 3 years, conducted by occupational psychologists. The initiative, launched on a pilot basis in 2024, will also be extended to the employees of the DUPs involved, and will aim to provide tools and knowledge for safe behaviour and effective emotional management.
PCL refresher course
During 2025, the Group conducted the first two pilot editions of the supervisor refresher course pursuant to Article 37 of Legislative Decree 81/08. The aim of the course is to provide supervisors with the following knowledge:
– relating to obligations in relation to tasks in the context of CLP, the ability to read risks in typical CLP scenarios;
– relating to Danger, Risk, Damage, Interference and DUVRI;
– for the exercise of effective communication and the ability to formulate feedback to workers;
– for the effective management of inspection visits.
Annual plans for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) audits and inspections
Monitoring and control of compliance and Improvement Plans are carried out through “Annual Plans of OSH Audits/Controls” in each production unit of the Parent Company and in the subsidiaries. Specifically, the OSH Audit/Control activities carried out in 2025 consist of: Audits on Occupational Health and Safety/Environmental Management Systems with the objective of verifying that the management system adopted in the Group complies with the requirements of the reference standards and that it is correctly implemented and maintained; Technical Audits, control activities aimed at analysing and assessing the state of OSH compliance of every single site, with particular reference to plant/structural aspects. The systems adopted by the Poste Italiane Group to monitor and control the effectiveness of the SSL policies adopted include:
– GISLA (Computer, Occupational Safety and Environment Management);
– Platform for management training;
– GIW (Web Based Accident Management);
– SSA (Safety Self-Assessment);
– Real Gimm (used for the management of maintenance impacting SSL);
– File Maker (used for the management of real estate works impacting SSL);
– EDVR (Electronic Risk Assessment Documents Management);
– EPI (Poste Italiane Emergency Management System).
